October 12, 2012. Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev keeps working on his projects in Moscow: he had two important meetings with the representatives of the U.S. business community who are taking part in the 12th annual investment conference run by the American Trade Chamber in Russia and with the President of Boeing – Russia & The CIS Sergey Kravchenko.
At the conference, Kuivashev presented his report on the opportunities Sverdlovsk Region offers to American business. His main point was that the Mid-Ural companies are willing to build up on their cooperation with both established and new partners from the United States. The regional authorities also promise to give full administrative support to and to do national-scale lobbying for their business projects.
Metallurgy is seen as one of the key cooperation areas.
‘This is a core business for the region that is now undergoing total modernization. We could really do with the American technologies and know-hows as well as joint production projects. The fact that Sverdlovsk Region business and the region’s authorities are both focused on setting up new, hi tech production facilities in such fields as medicine, pharmaceuticals, instrument making, and aircraft building, and on developing the tertiary sector means that we do need a more thorough partnership with the States,’ Kuivashev said.
The Governor of Sverdlovsk Region also presented the American business elite the project on the special economic zone called the Titanium Valley.
