October 8, 2012. Sverdlovsk Region Energy & Communal Housing Services Minister Nikolai Smirnov went to Kamyshlov on a business trip in order to look into how the industry-specific programs are being implemented, Sverdlovsk Region Press Service Administration reports.
He paid special attention to the construction of the town’s first housing meant for relocating residents from slums: this program is being implemented with support from the Communal Housing Reform Facilitation Fund. Kamyshlov Council reports that about 140 buildings have been declared unfit for living in. The program on relocating residents from the slums and the development of low-rise housing construction means that residents from 18 such buildings can move house as soon as this year: 154 people will get better homes.
