Sverdlovsk Region to Co-Op with EBRD on Investment Projects

Sverdlovsk Region Government Prime Minister Denis Pasler held a work meeting with head of the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development for Ural Federal District and Perm Territory Evgeny Ofrikhter. The parties looked into the issues related to cooperating in the field of infrastructure and industrial investment projects, Sverdlovsk Region Government’s Press Service Administration reports.
Ofrikhter presented the EBRD’s options for supporting the investment projects in the region to the Prime Minister. He pointed out that the EBRD was operating in all the sectors of industry excluding the defense sector. The bank gives proactive support to energy-saving and production upgrades projects, offers lending packages to SMEs using the credit lines of its partners, commercial banks, and gives direct funding to medium enterprises worth over 400m RUR. What is more, the EBRD has experience in the field of investing in such infrastructure projects as road and the underground construction, engineering infrastructure, and communal housing services upgrades. This could be both short-term and long-term projects and lifecycle ones.
