Russian Magnesium Might Get Involved in Criminal Suit due to Wage Arrears

Sverdlovsk Region public prosecution authorities took administrative action against Russian Magnesium for violating the labor legislation. The company currently owes 58 of its workers over 1.1m RUR in wage arrears for June and July 2012, the spokesperson for the public prosecution authorities reports.

The offenses were detected in the course of an inspection by the prosecution authorities.

Following the detected violations, the public prosecutor of Asbest ordered the Director-General of Russian Magnesium Alexei Ginsburg to eliminate the Russian Labor Code violations, and the legal entity Russian Magnesium is now involved in an administrative lawsuit, with charges based on Article 5.27 (part 1) of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code (violation of the labor and labor protection legislation); the case in now being considered by the authorities.

What is more, the public prosecution authorities of Asbest placed all the documentation relating to the case with Asbest Interdepartmental Investigative Division of Russia’s Investigative Committee in Sverdlovsk Region so that the decision as to whether criminal proceedings should be instituted could be made.
