MMK DG wins state award

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Region, April 6, 2012. Under the Russian Federation President Dmitri Medvedev’s decree the Director-General of Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Boris Dubrovsky was awarded the Order of Honor.

MMK executive was given the award for his ‘work achievements and many years of conscientious performance’.

Boris Dubrovsky was born in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Region on November 22, 1958. He graduated with honors from Magnitogorsk Mining & Metallurgical Academy in 1990 with a major in metal forming and from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in 2001.

He started his career as an apprentice of the first-class inspector at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works’ Technical Supervision Department in 1976. After serving his term in the army, he came back to MMK to work as a metallurgical equipment fitter, as the fitting team’s foreman, as a chief foreman, as the head of the rolling division, as a deputy director and then the director of the Sheet-Rolling Department, and then as MMK’s Chief Roller.

In 2000, Dubrovsky was appointed Deputy Commercial Director and Head of the Equipment Management, and in 2002 he became MMK’s Technical Director and Chief Engineer.

In 2002-2003, he combined his duties with the position of MMK’s Director-General.

In 2003-2008, the executive was the company’s Domestic Market Sales Director, Sales Director, and CEO.

Between the year 2009 and May 2011, Dubrovsky was First Deputy Director-General of Uralvagonzavod Scientific Production Corporation.

In May 2011, he was elected MMK’s Director-General.
