A developer company called 73 Malyshev St Society is going to start reconstructing Passage department store in the nearest future, the company’s co-owner Igor Zavodovsky said at a press conference.

The company made a presentation on the reconstruction project for the Yekaterinburg-based department store Passage today.

‘The reconstruction jobs will start very soon. I believe this work will be finished in eighteen months, so the remodeled Passage will welcome customers again at the end of 2013,’ Zavodovsky added.

After the reconstruction, the shopping center’s total area will come to 64,600 sq m. The mall will be fitted with a two-level underground parking lot with the total area of 13,000 sq m, which will be enough for parking up to 450 cars. The parking lot will be free to use.

Kupets supermarket chain is to become the new Passage’s anchor tenant. A modern farmers’ market format was chosen for the chain. The mall will also house a food court with 250 seats, an entertainment area with a 12-lane bowling club, and a movie theater with seven screens and 1,300 seats.
