Parts of Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Alexander Misharin’s staff car (a Mercedes) have been sent to Germany for an examination by a board of experts, head of Investigative Department of Russia’s Investigative Committee Sverdlovsk Region Division, Colonel of Justice Valery Zadorin announced at a press conference in Yekaterinburg.

The Governor’s automobile and accompanying cars were involved in a bad accident on Yekaterinburg-Servo freeway on December 1, 2011. The Governor’s Mercedes collided with a Volga, whose driver was killed. Misharin and his chauffer were badly injured.

‘We haven’t got the experts’ report from the technical examination yet. This is a rather complicated procedure, and the report will only be ready in March at the soonest. We had to send parts of the car to Germany, to the manufacturing plant. This is all part of an international commission. The plant can look into the details of the accident using the data from the special sensors integrated into the dashboard, and the plant’s experts can decipher the information,’ Zadorin explained.

The inquiry into the case has been extended through March 1, 2012.
