Rosaviation calls off Transaero’s Italian license

1 December 2011 (09:20)

Rosaviation first issued a permission for Transaero to operate chartered flights to three Italian cities and then called it off, the air carrier claims. The airline has already signed agreements with tour operators and is now threatening to take the case to court. Rosaviation announced last night that the agency had never sent a permission to operate chartered flights to Italy to the air carrier, RBC daily reports.

According to the airline, Rosaviation committee approved of their application for the operation of chartered flights from Moscow to Rome on October 28. However, as soon as November 11, the agency actually took back on its decision.

‘Considering Rosaviation’s permission, Transaero signed a number of agreements on the operation of chartered flights in the winter season of 2011/2012 and started internal proceedings related to the organization and provision of the flights,’ the airline says.

The air carrier complains that Rosaviation provided no comment on its actions whatsoever.
