Nizhnevartovsk, Chelyabinsk, Perm Airport to Raise Jet Fuel Prices

11 October 2011 (10:58)

Jet fuel prices keep going up in Russia. Twenty airports in the country are going to launch price increases ranging between 1.5% and 9% over the next few days. All in all, the price of jet fuel has gone up by nearly 40% since the beginning of the year. This has to do with the fuel shortage, as the market is estimated to be lacking at least 10% to 15% of the amount needed. If RosReserve provided the 180,000 tons of fuel promised by the government, this could solve the problem, but such a decision has not been made yet, Kommersant reports.

As for Moscow-based airports, jet fuel prices increased by only 1.5% to 1.8%, that is, up to 33,500 RUR – 34,500 RUR per ton including fill-in and VAT, while in the provinces the fuel prices rise dramatically. Aerofuels Group reports the fuel at Emelyanovo Airport of Krasnoyarsk will go up by 8% in the next few days and will be sold for 31,030 RUR per ton. The price will go up by 9% in Nizhnevartovsk, so the price will come to 30,680 RUR per ton. The filling stations of Chelyabinsk, Perm, and Nizhniy Novgorod will raise their fuel prices by 4.6% to 4.8%.
