Mitsui Officials Visit Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant
23 September 2011 (10:11)
The representatives of the Japanese metallurgical company Mitsui visited Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (a member of ChTPZ Group). The visit was mainly aimed at sharing the two parties’ experience in the field of kaizen practices – the philosophy of continuous improvement, the Group’s press service reports.
The Pervouralsk Plant and the Mitsui representatives held a meeting on the kaizen launching technology and methods, they also visited the site of the Iron Ozone 32 electric steel-smelting facility and the finishing center for the OCTG production and processing. The finishing center, launched in 2009, has been employing the lean production and the kaizen principles ever since it was opened and is now a great example of how the technological processes can be systematized and visualized at Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant.
We have looked into the technologies and the company’s pipe-manufacturing potential. Your plant is virtually the same as the Japanese enterprises in terms of machinery, technologies, and supporting tools,’ Mitsui Steel Division’s Chief Manager said.
