Housing Fund Resumes Backing Sverdlovsk Region
12 July 2011 (10:36)
The communal housing services support fund informed Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Alexander Misharin of the fund Board’s decision to resume the financing allocated for the region, the spokesperson for the regional Ministry for Energy & Communal Housing Services reports.
The fund actually halted the financing in April 2011 in respect of capital repairs of apartment blocks and relocation of citizens from slums. This had to do with the fact that Sverdlovsk Region, like over twenty other regions, in fact, did not manage to complete all the jobs related to the land registry of all the allotments where the apartment blocks related to the program were located.
Minister for Energy & Communal Housing Services Yuri Shevelev says the funds meant for co-financing the relocation projects are expected to arrive in the nearest future, which means all the jobs within the program will be completed effectively and on time.
He also observed that the relocation program provided for new housing for 1,988 people this year; they will move from 136 dilapidated apartment blocks in seven regional municipalities into new dwellings, including a number of low-rise buildings.
